More about our club

We meet on the third Wednesday of each month in the Lichfield Fire Station Community Room  from 7.30 to 9.30. We usually start arriving from about 7.15pm.

Members bring items and projects that they have been working on and display on the stage for all to see during the evening. We like to make a prompt start at 7.30pm and break around 8.15 for tea or coffee. Refreshments are available for you to make a drink but you will need to bring a cup or mug. The cost of this is covered by our monthly subs.

We are a non-profit making club however in order to cover the hall and insurance costs, we have an annual subscription which is £12 per person and monthly subs of £2 which helps to cover the cost of kits. We try to put on a wide range of sessions that will meet the interests of the members. External visiting speakers/ workshops are sometimes more expensive for the evening but you will be informed of these in advance.

The newsletter and our web site programme will contain a reminder of equipment that you need to bring along to the next session.

You will find that your basic kit will gradually expand but you will not have to buy everything at the beginning; there is always someone willing to share their equipment.

We have a raffle each month. Tickets cost 50p each and we ask each member to donate one item in January for a prize. To ensure this is fair we ask that you spend at least £5 and purchase something you would like to win yourself.

Our Social Secretary puts together the programme of events and sessions; however we welcome ideas and suggestions from all members. Please contact any member of the committee if you have any ideas or if you would like to run one of the workshops.

Our monthly newsletter is sent out by email and posted on-line in our Archive section around the end of each month. However if you do not have email access we can get it posted to you if you supply us with a stamped addressed envelope.

The AGM will be held at the January session.
